De Broglie Hypothesis: De Broglie Equation and Conclusion

De Broglie Hypothesis:

De Broglie proposed a hypothesis of Matter Waves. It stated that every matter have wave like properties in motion. Radiation has dual nature, it behaves as wave and sometimes as particle also. 

Famous Scientists, de-Broglie made a hypothesis that Radiation has Dual Nature, so moving particle of matter should exhibit wave under appropriate condition. 
Thus, according to De Broglie, all material particles in motion have wave nature. 


Conclusion made by De Broglie: 

After De Broglie made his Hypothesis, he came to conclusion on the observation that the entire Universe is composed of matter and radiation and that nature loves symmetry. These two physical entities: Matter and Radiation, should have Symmetrical character. 

Thus here is the conclusion of De Broglie Principal.


What is De Broglie Equation ?

Here is the derivation of De Broglie Equation.
Here is the De Broglie Equation,
E = hv, (v is the frequency)
E = mc² 

Thus, from the above Equation,
m=E/c² = hv/c² (c is the velocity of light) 
Photon travels with the Velocity of light.

The momentum of photon is given by,
p= mass*velocity= (hv/c²)*c = hv/c

v=c/lambda, p= h/lambda

Therefore, lambda = h/p
p=mv, so, lambda= h/mv
